Programs

In this small group ukulele workshop, we will explore various aspects of music and creativity, and how it can be expressed through the ukulele.

The primary goal of is to spend our time having fun and learning in a supportive, collaborative environment. No prior knowledge is required to participate. We will begin with introduction to the ukulele, individual notes and chords and strumming, and continue with playing songs together.

Arkady has lived in Victoria since 2015. He studied guitar performance at the University of Alaska and music history at the University of Victoria. His favorite Genres include folk, jazz, bluegrass and fingerstyle. He has been teaching in Canada and abroad for about 20 years. Arkadi performs as a bassist with Victoria based East European folk band Bucan Bucan and the Horsetail Bandits Trio. Since 2015, Arkadi has also performed on bass, guitar and uke-bass with various jazz bands in the Anchorage (AK) area, gypsy jazz group Swing49 and the Chad Meyer Trio. Arkadi is building his Victoria music studio and would love to help folks learn Uke, Bass and Guitar. He strives to create a supportive, fun environment for learning which is tailored to students’ needs, knowledge and interests. Private students of and groups of all ages and abilities are welcome
