Program is Full
In this workshop we will discuss a range of topics: beginner friendly gardening, soil science basics, where to find free supplies, local ecology, how to keep your landlord happy, and more! My goal is to help make gardening more accessible to renters who may not know where to begin, or need some help problem-solving. Whether you want to grow some veggies to keep your grocery bill down, or grow some flowers to make your space more enjoyable, there's something for everyone in this workshop. We will also be making seed starts for participants to take home, thanks to seed donations from Rake and Radish Farm and Satinflower Nurseries!
Please contact the facilitator at irisinthegardens@gmail.com if cost is a barrier - no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Bring any drinks or snacks you may need. A limited number of chairs will be available. Bring a camp chair or picnic blanket if you are able. We will have a tent in case of rain, but the workshop will continue, so come prepared for the weather!
Please stay home if you or someone in your home isn't feeling well. Masks will be available.
Site info: This workshop will take place at Oswald Park. There are no public washrooms at the park. The Cedar Hill Rec Center is the closest public washroom, and is approximately a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive from the park. Street parking is available. If you have any accessibility questions or concerns, please reach out to irisinthegardens@gmail.com
